Ceramic Tile Installation$30.00 to $40.00 per hour (plus materials) $5.00 to $7.00 per square foot (including labor and a mid-grade tile) $1.00 to $2.00 per square foot (new sub-floor installation only) $1.00 to $3.00 per square foot (new wall backing installation only) $5.00 to $10.00 per square foot (tile removal only) $5.00 to $7.00 per square foot (labor only, tile provided by customer) I have found for myself that sf has been a good indicator for me based upon how much I can set in a certain time to the quality I expect to see from someone of my discernment. I am a perfectionist but one who also knows the imperfections of the material is always present. I do the best I can with what I have been given.
I developed my billing philosophy as a billing reality through trial and error. I know what is necessary for an outstanding installation. Time and experience both cost money and are worth every cent in the end. Every time you look at the finished install or run your hand over the joints and corners, you will be reminded of how thankful a master's eye is worth.
